Orchestra to conduct free show at area farm

FREMONT – Toledo Symphony Chamber Orchestra’s next “Simple Gifts” concert is outdoors at 4 p.m. Sunday at Peninsular Farms in Fremont.

The program includes “Appalachian Spring” by Aaron Copland. Other composers featured include Ungar, Chambers and Rossini.

Admission is free.

This is the fourth in the “Simple Gifts” series, which is conducted with the Black Swamp Conservancy.

Those who attend are encouraged to bring their own chairs and blankets. Guided nature walks of Peninsular Farms will embark at 2 p.m. and run every 15 minutes.

Located just outside of Fremont, the 470-acre Peninsular Farms features woods, farmland, meadows and wetlands along a 3-mile stretch of the Sandusky River.

The farm is home to deer, great horned owls, hawks and numerous other species, including two pairs of nesting bald eagles.
