Barbershop taking on Broadway
FOSTORIA – The Fostoria Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society, Lake Plains Chorus, is presenting its annual show, “The Magic of Broadway,” at 7:30 p.m. April 26 in the Performing Arts Center at Fostoria High School.
Barbershop music is sung a cappella in four-part, close harmony. Based in Fostoria, Lake Plains is a regional chorus, with members from Port Clinton, Marblehead, Fremont, Bellevue, Norwalk, Tiffin, Findlay, Fostoria, Bowling Green and many points in between.
Fred Schmidt of Bowling Green directs the group.
This year’s production features 2006 International Champion quartet Vocal Spectrum. The foursome hails from St. Charles, Mo., and all members of this young, award-winning quartet are graduates of Lindenwood University.
Advance tickets are $12 for adults and $6 for students. At the door, the tickets are $14 and $7, respectively.

Youthful harmonizers to perform
CLYDE – Communities for the Arts is bringing an all-male a cappella singing group to Clyde High School for a show at 7:30 p.m. April 26.
The Accafellas of Michigan State University have prepared a high-energy show with a primarily pop repertoire.
Tickets are available at the Clyde-Green Springs Board of Education office and at the door. The cost is $15 general admission and $5 for students through high school.

Wrestling show Saturday
NWA “Saturday Night Take-Over” is coming to Tiffin Developmental Center Gym Saturday. The doors open at 4:30 p.m., with bell time at 5:30.

Program celebrates Easter story
BUCYRUS – “The North Central Ohio Passion Play” is to be staged at 7 p.m. today, Friday and Saturday at Bucyrus Nazarene Church, 2165 SR 4, south of Bucyrus.
The retelling of the crucifixion from the persona of Peter features a cast of more than 150 people. The play is not suitable for some children.

The opera workshop of Heidelberg University’s Department of Music and Theatre is to present “Puccini Passion” at 7 p.m. April 30. The program is to take place in Ohl Concert Hall in Brenneman Music Hall.
