Auditions set for children’s musical

BELLEVUE – Open auditions for Bellevue Society for the Art’s Children’s Theatre production of “Disney’s Aladdin Jr.” are to be conducted at 7 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at BSA, 205 Maple S., Bellevue.

The story is set in Agrabah, city of enchantment, to follow the fantastic tale of a street rat who became a prince. Available roles include Aladdin, Princess Jasmine, Genie, narrator(s), Jafar, Iago, Sultan, Razoul, Magic Carpet, guards, attendants, Prince Baba of Ganoush, Prince Dahdu Rahn-Rahn, (The) Prince Formerly Known as the Artist, townspeople, Abu and Raja.

The production is open to children in grades 2-8 in any school system.

Show dates are April 11-13.

See ‘War Horse’ on big screen

FINDLAY – Carmike 12 in Findlay is to host a live broadcast of the stage production, “War Horse,” from London’s West End.

“NT-Live: War Horse” is to be shown at 2 p.m. Feb. 27.

Based on Michael Morpurgo’s novel and adapted for the stage by Nick Stafford, “War Horse” takes audiences from the fields of rural Devon, England, to the trenches of World War I France. At its heart are life-size puppets by South Africa’s Handspring Puppet Co., who bring breathing, galloping, charging horses to life on stage.

The program has one intermission and runs 210 minutes. Tickets are $18.

Children preparing for choir concert

The Tiffin University Kids’ Choir is to give its spring concert at 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. March 1 in Osceola Theatre in the Gillmor Center on campus.

Senior Citizen’s Brunch planned

The annual Senior Citizen’s Brunch is to be served at Columbian High School at 9:30 a.m. March 20. All seniors 50 years and older living in the Tiffin City School District are eligible to receive free tickets.

The brunch is to be served in the high school cafeteria and a ticket is required to attend. The musical “All Shook Up” will be shown following the brunch.

Tickets are available at Allen Eiry Senior Center only. They must be picked up in person any time during regular business hours. There is a limit of two tickets per person. Quantities are limited due to seating.
