Dinner, singing scheduled
CLYDE – Compassionate Ministries, 1283 TR 236, Clyde, is to host Christmas singing and supper 3-8 p.m. Saturday.
The dinner of turkey, ham, dressing, vegetables, mashed potatoes and dessert is to be served 3-4:30 p.m., with singing from 5-8 p.m.

Light show graces area park
UPPER SANDUSKY – The Fantasy of Lights continues through Dec. 30 at Harrison Smith Park in Upper Sandusky. Hours are 6-10 p.m. Friday through Sunday and 6-9:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
The park’s 33 acres are aglow with millions of lights and unique displays, all done by volunteers, organizations and businesses.
Admission is $5 for cars, $15 for vans and $50 for tour buses.
Proceeds from this year’s event are to be donated to Hannah’s House and The Star Players.
Hayes Center events on tap
FREMONT – The Hayes Presidential Center in Fremont is celebrating the season with special features.
The Hayes Train Special is to run through Jan. 5 with a display of eight model trains and a model train clinic from 1-4 p.m. Jan. 4.
Sleigh or carriage rides (depending on the weather) are to be offered 1-4 p.m. Dec. 26-29 and Dec. 31 at Spiegel Grove. The cost is $3 per rider.
The “Rutherford B. Hayes: Buckeye President” exhibit is open through April 13.

‘Magnolia’ auditions coming
BELLEVUE – Open auditions for “Steel Magnolias” are set for 7 p.m. Jan. 6 and 7 at Bellevue Society for the Arts, 205 Maple St., Bellevue.
Six women come together at the local beauty salon to share their secrets, fears and love for one another.
Available roles include:
Truvy Jones (late-30s), wise-cracking owner of the beauty shop.
Annelle Dupuy-Desoto (late teens-20s), Truvy’s simple, yet enigmatic, assistant.
Clairee Belcher (mid-40s), widow of the former mayor and a wealthy grande dame.
Shelby Eatenton-Latcherie (20s), sweet, smart and stubbornly independent.
M’Lynn Eatenton (mid-40s), Shelby’s mother, a socially prominent career woman.
Ouiser Boudreaux (mid-50s), a wealthy curmudgeon who is acerbic but loveable.
Those auditioning will be asked to read from the script. Callbacks, if needed, will be Jan. 8. “Steel Magnolias” will be presented Feb. 21, 22, 28 and March 1.
