Nooks, crannies explored on Fremont stage
FREMONT – The 58th season of Fremont Community Theatre is to open this weekend with comedy and suspense when the company presents “Every Little Crook and Nanny.”
Performances are at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday. Three more shows are set for Oct. 4-6 at Fremont Community Theatre, 1551 Dickinson St., Fremont.
In the spirit of Frank Capra, this family-friendly, humorous tale of a bank heist and three retired nannies has twists and surprises appropriate for any audience.
Lillie Scones is a sweet retired nanny who runs a boarding house with one resident and “a cat the size of the Louisiana Purchase.” Her two friends, Jocelyn and Carmella, help to pass the time by listening to music and gossiping.
Then Stuart, an old charge of hers, rents a room. Lillie is pleased to have him around again, not knowing he is planning on robbing the bank on the corner.
Throw in Stuart’s allergic partner in crime, a lovely young student, a chief of police, a suspicious fiance and a half-pint brat with an “Al Capone do-it-yourself tool kit,” and nobody knows what will happen next.
Tickets are $10 for seniors and students and $12 for adults.
