Heritage Festival activities in the works
The 2013 Tiffin-Seneca Heritage festival is about six weeks away, but organizers have been planning for months for a successful event. They are looking for participants in a Tiffin-style “Amazing Race” and entries for the inaugural Independent Car Show.
Based on the “Amazing Race” television reality show, teams of two people will travel around Seneca County to uncover clues, complete challenges and race against other teams to win. Each team is to receive all the information they will need to compete.
The following rules apply:
At least one member of each team must be 21 or older.
Each contestant must complete at least three challenges.
Elimination challenges are to be done throughout the race, and they will be used to determine the top 12 teams.
The entry fee is $10 if the form is turned in by Aug. 15. The fee is $20 after that date.
The race and challenges start promptly at 8 a.m. Sept. 21 in the Tiffin Mall parking lot.
One team will be the grand prize team winner.
Registration forms are available online at www.tiffinfestival.com or by calling Melody Snyder at (419) 618-9950.
This year, the festival committee has decided to host its first car show. It is to take place 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Sept. 22 on South Washington Street in downtown Tiffin. There will be a plaque for each winner of the groups, plus a People’s Choice Award. Registration begins at 10 a.m. Sept. 22 in front of The Ritz Theater. Judging is to be done at 1 p.m. and awards given at 3 p.m. All vehicles must be removed from the judging area by 5 p.m.
