Can Tiffin get ‘Happy’?

“A Strange Brand of Happy,” a movie by Tiffin native Brad Wise, is set for release Sept. 13. Tickets are being sold in advance online at As of this writing, 372 tickets have been reserved, but a total of 500 is needed to bring the film to Tiffin.

Free Wild to perform

FINDLAY – Free Wild of Tiffin is to perform 7-9 p.m. Saturday at Coffee Amici, 328 S. Main St., Findlay. Band members include Martin Koop, Steve Wilson and Brian T. Strong. Admission is free.

Junior Home program

The Seneca County Museum is to be open 2-4 p.m. Sunday during the Homekids’ reunion. Movies about the Junior Home that were viewed Aug. 18 are to be shown again Sunday.

Admission is free. The museum is at 28 Clay St.

Monsters needed

for Haunted Hydro season

FREMONT – The Haunted Hydro is conducting monster auditions at 6 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. Saturday at 1333 Tiffin St., Fremont. Forms can be downloaded from

Bring completed forms and character photos to the audition. Everyone is to be notified the first week of September.

The attraction is to open Sept. 4 and 5 and operate on weekends through Oct. 27. It will be open again Oct. 31-Nov. 2.

Church to serve

ice cream, bratwursts

GREEN SPRINGS – Calvary United Methodist Church, 115 Kansas St., Green Springs, is having an ice cream and bratwurst festival at 5 p.m. Sept. 7. The menu for this fundraiser also includes chicken, hot beef, hot dogs, potato salad, cole slaw, fruit, baked beans, pie and cake.

The Green Springs Town Band is to give a concert.

Concert and car show planned in Green Springs

GREEN SPRINGS – Elmwood Healthcare Center at the Springs is inviting the public to don country attire and visit the campus Sept. 8 for “Good Ole Country Music Concert and Car Show.”

The outdoor activities run 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at 401 N. Broadway St., Green Springs. The Heights Baton twirlers are to perform and awards are to be given for the top three car show entries.

The Xpando Band is to provide music.

‘Angry Men’ identified

BUCYRUS – Bucyrus Little Theatre has announced the cast for the first show in its 2013-14 season, “12 Angry Men,” directed by Tracy McAdams.

Cast as the jury foreman is Tyler Jacobs of Bucyrus. Other jurors include Jim Hoover of Shelby, Paul Zimmerman of New Washington and Dave Cory, Matthew Hoover, James Robison, Austin Tuttle, Richard Johnson, Dick Hulsmeyer, Ryan Shifley, Robert Cohen and Michael Schoeppner, all of Bucyrus. Michael France of Bucyrus is to portray the bailiff.

Performance dates are to be Sept. 27, 28, 29 and Oct. 4,5 and 6.
